What does DPI mean and why should I care?

DPI stands for Dots Per Inch, a measure of print resolution. The DPI setting determines how large your image will print. For example, an 1800x1200 pixel image at 300 DPI will print at 6x4 inches. Our tool lets you select a DPI to see the corresponding print size, helping you prepare images for physical output.

Does changing DPI affect the pixel dimensions?

No, DPI is metadata and does not change the pixel dimensions. However, when you resize the image, the pixel dimensions change. The DPI you select is used only to calculate the physical print size. The downloaded image does not have its DPI metadata altered (but you can set it in image editing software if needed).

What image formats are supported?
