Free PDF to PNG Converter – Lossless Images, Download Individually or as ZIP
Welcome to Web tool Bazar's PDF to PNG converter. This tool extracts every page of your PDF and saves it as a high‑quality PNG image. PNG is a lossless format, meaning your images will retain every detail without compression artifacts. You can then download images one by one or all together in a ZIP file. Perfect for archiving, graphic design, or when you need perfect quality.
🖼️ Why Convert PDF to PNG?
- Lossless quality: PNG preserves all details, text, and sharp edges – ideal for screenshots, diagrams, and text-heavy pages.
- Transparency support: Although PDF pages don't have transparency, PNG can be useful for further editing.
- Universal compatibility: PNG images can be viewed on any device without special software.
- Archiving: Store pages as images for long‑term access.
Note: Text in the resulting images is not selectable – this is a visual conversion only. PNG files are larger than JPG, so expect bigger file sizes.
📋 Step-by-Step Guide
- Upload your PDF – Drag & drop, click to select, or use the sample PDF (max 50MB, up to 100 pages).
- Click "Convert to PNG" – The tool renders each page at 1.5x scale and saves as PNG.
- Choose download method – After conversion, you'll see thumbnails of all pages. Click the download button under any image to save it individually, or use the "Download All as ZIP" button to get everything in one archive.
⚙️ Technical Details
We use pdf.js to render each page at 1.5x scale for crisp images. The canvas is then converted to a PNG blob using canvas.toBlob() with 'image/png'. All blobs are stored in memory so you can download them individually or combined into a ZIP using JSZip. PNG is lossless, so quality is perfect, but file sizes are larger than JPG.
Limitations: Very large PDFs (over 50MB or 100 pages) may result in huge ZIP files and could be slow. For best results, split your PDF first.
🧐 Frequently Asked Questions
Why are PNG files larger than JPG?
PNG uses lossless compression, preserving every pixel exactly. This results in larger file sizes compared to JPG, which uses lossy compression. Choose PNG when quality is critical; choose JPG for smaller files.
Can I choose a different scale or quality?
Currently, the tool renders at 1.5x scale. For even higher resolution, you could use a different tool, but 1.5x provides a good balance for most uses.
Will the images be the same size as the PDF pages?
We render at 1.5x scale, so images are 1.5 times the original PDF dimensions (at 72 DPI). This improves quality without making files excessively large.
Is it really private?
Yes. All processing happens in your browser; no data is uploaded to any server.
What does the sample PDF contain?
A 2‑page PDF with colorful shapes – perfect for testing the conversion.
