How Strong Is Your Password?
Our password strength checker evaluates passwords based on length, character variety, and common patterns. We calculate the effective character set (uppercase, lowercase, numbers, symbols) and derive entropy bits. A password with more than 60 bits of entropy is generally considered secure against brute‑force attacks.
Why Entropy Matters
Entropy measures unpredictability. A password like “password” has very low entropy; “G7&k!9fP$2q” has high entropy. Our tool also checks against a list of the most common passwords to ensure you’re not using one that’s easily guessed.
